For a Town of a little over 1,000 dwellings there is a surprisingly large business sector. The proximity of Ronaldsway Airport is a factor but, with the encouragement of central and Local Government, Castletown has a thriving and expanding business sector.

The Town is served by three Banks, this being an indicator of the size of client base they serve. The type of business in Castletown is varied, from service to the building industry; catering for hotels and restaurants; to insurance, ship management and fund management.

Staff travel from all corners of the Island to their offices, swelling the population during the day.
